The final programme is now available for the “From Waste to Sustainable Fuels” Joint Symposium, taking place on 28–29 May 2026 in Barcelona. The event will focus on sustainability assessment and product standardisation in next-generation biofuel pathways, with a special emphasis on waste-to-fuel solutions for hard-to-abate sectors.
Over two days, the symposium will bring together experts from research, industry and policy to discuss key challenges and opportunities in advancing sustainable fuels. Topics on the agenda include life cycle sustainability assessment, circularity, greenhouse gas emissions, techno-economic performance, sustainable aviation fuel requirements, and emerging conversion pathways for biofuels and e-fuels.
The programme also includes a panel discussion on aligning LCA methodologies for biofuels and a final roundtable to reflect on the main insights from the symposium.
The Joint Symposium is co-organised by the EU-funded projects FlexBY, FUEL-UP, Bio-MeGaFuel, TEAPOTS, BeBOP, PYSOLO and Fuels-C, highlighting the value of clustering activities in driving sustainable fuel innovation across Europe.
